NSHIMA PORRIDGE

  • Ingredients:

    ¾ to 1 cup maize meal
    1 cup cold water

    3 cups boiling water
    1 tsp. salt

    1 tbsp. butter

  • Method:

    1. Boil water and salt in a pot with a lid.
    2. Mix maize meal with cold water.
    3. Stir cold maize meal mixture into the boiling water.
    4. Cover and simmer for at least 30 minutes.
    5. Add a dollop of butter and stir.
    6. Serve with milk and sugar or honey
